Interesting question Jessee.

I think that your issue might stem from what we do sometimes in taking too much responsibility for the result of our outreach. Ours is to faithfully proclaim the gospel and it is the Spirits work to cause regeneration.

Also, realize God is sovereign over our salvation. Many are called but few are chosen. It is not our place to know who God will save only to proclaim truth and you can be rest assured that until every last one of those He has chosen come in, Christ will not come.

I remember an encounter some years back with a co-worker who I had been proclaiming Christ to. He was always laughing about it and making light of me. I was in my room late one night when he called me and pleaded I join him in the office. I drove there to find him disturbed and reading something on the computer screen. It was the Bible and Rev 21:8. It had dawned on him that he was destined for hell and the funny thing is it was the fact that all liars are destined for hell that struck him. He was guilty of the adultery part as well but the fact that even lies would condemn him struck him. That is the Spirit at work and He used that righteous condemnation of the wrath of God to make that cross of Christ attractive to that friend.

Hope that helps clarify

I think the best way to preach the gospel is to model our preaching in the same manner as our Lord and his apostles. Show sinners the wrath of God hanging over their heads and also show them the perfect work of Christ in dealing with that wrath. Show sinners their great sin and show them the great saviour

A thought Ive always had and I would love to here what you have to say about it in a reply; is this. Telling the unsaved they are going to hell so they need to repent seems to be of no use and what I mean is; they frankly do not care that they are going to hell. You can tell a person until they are blue in the face that this is their destination and yet turn away from your teaching…maybe it is just the way the world is going or is there a different way of outreach where we are still preaching the truth like John the Baptist with repent and the same message but where we don’t scare the those away that are yet still curious of the message.

Just lately I been finding that they could care less about hell and the bad news because they don’t have the heart of God and the spirit to convict them otherwise…I would love to hear a little bit about your take on this.

We can not coat the gospel but there also has to be different ways to preach the same Gospel Jesus did…Or maybe I’m thinking to much into it.
